This artsy side of me began in 1979 when I was stationed with my husband in Japan. There I began to take oil painting classes. Later I added classes for water color. From 90-92 I taught oils and water color classes at yet another Air Force Base. I have had students send me pictures of the work they have done since the classes and I am always overwhelmed at how good they are, some of them have certainly surpassed their teacher. Of course I can't take the credit, they are where they are creatively because of their own hard work, not giving up when something didn't turn out like they wanted. But I do feel a sense of accomplishment that when they needed a teacher I was there to help them. Although I enjoy this venue of art, I become restless and always need a challenge. In winter of 92 I took a decorative painting class at a local shop. I was hooked after that. It wasn't long before I began to teach and craft shows soon followed. I love all aspects of this field but I especially love to design...to see a piece of wood take on shape and demension is very rewarding. When my husband retired from the Air Force I took a leap of faith with him and began a new adventure...producing and marketing my designs. There have been some bumps in the road but they have always smoothed out with faith, prayer and help from my Nick the Webmaster.

What I want people to know about me is that I am a woman of Christian faith. I live this faith out daily in my life. The creativity that I have comes from the Master Creator! I am thankful that He has given me this talent and the means to use it.

By the way, Aly's Room is named after my daugher Alyce Lauren; we call her Aly, unless she's in trouble. She isn't creative in this side of the arts but she is very talented in music. ( where did she get that from?).
